What you get

Upon purchase of this test, you will receive a CARO Kit complete with:

Testing containers – we fill your precleaned testing containers with the correct preservatives for this test.  Please make sure you don’t dump out the preservative prior to filling the container – it’s supposed to be there!

Containers included:

  1. Legionella Pneumophila: 300mL Plastic, with Na2S2O3 Preservative
  2. Reusable Ice Packs: Please note that these samples must be kept cold (2-8C) at all times.  Please ensure that your samples are shipped back cold using the ice pack provided.

Sampling guidelines – we’ll make sure you know the correct methods of sampling to ensure that there aren’t any hiccups in the testing process.

Chain of Custody – this is a standard laboratory form that must be filled out and shipped back to us with the bottles. It’s used by our staff to make sure we get you the tests that you need!

The Report – we will send your report via email, and you can access it online using our ClientConnect service.  Your data will be listed alongside relevant regulatory guidelines/criteria, for a simple assessment of your data.

Please note that this kit does not include sampling PPE, as the required safety equipment will vary based on your specific site conditions and personal circumstances. Please contact a local consultant if you have questions or concerns about how to sample using the proper safety protocols. CARO provides testing services only; we do not provide sampling services.

How it works

After you purchase a kit on our store,

We will ship the CARO Kit to you via express shipping. In the CARO Kit, you’ll receive the sampling containers, a sheet to show how you will obtain the sample, as well as a chain of custody form (COC). The COC form is a standard order request form that will ensure we get you the data you need, where and when you need it.

Once you sample, it’s advised to get the samples back to us ASAP. Certain tests like Microbiology (found in most drinkability packages) have a sample holding time of only 24 hours, so it’s vital to get the containers in transit right away.  You can do this by dropping your sample off at any one of our CARO laboratories in person, or submitting it to a post office or courier addressed to one of our locations.

Once we’ve received your samples, allow 15 business days from the date of receipt for us to analyze them and produce the report for you.  We will email the report to you when it’s ready.

Internal rushes are possible for non-microbiology tests. Either uses the Turnaround Time add-on or make a custom inquiry via the contact us webpage or on the phone.  Please note that rush requests do incur additional charges.
